Requesting Continued Prayers For Gage

Thanks for all the Loving Support and Prayers for Gage…

Update for Saturday February 21, 2015!

Hey Everybody!!! This is a Gage update…

He was admitted to the Hospital on Thursday and kept overnight for his next Chemo Infusion. We were hoping and praying for a quick and easy process, and we got it (Thank you God)! He is struggling a bit with swelling in his legs and cute little face the last couple of days and so we had hoped to find out whether we need to worry about that, but didn’t get an answer. Regardless, Thank you for the prayers that this process would be easier than in the past and that he continues to improve every day.

The IV went in on the first try!!!!! Yay!!

He’s had roughly 9 of them and this is the only one to go right in!! We’re off to a great start! Because his Blood Count is so low, his veins don’t lie to take the needle like normal. This causes a problem when drawing blood and putting the IV’s in.

When his Blood Results came back, his Creatine (kidney function) is getting better!! It was at 2.7 last week and 2.4 today (It should be at .5 so we still have a way to go)!!! His blood count went up a little too! 9.5 Versus 9.3 last week. A smidge closer to the 14 it is supposed to be at!!! This is all good news!

We don’t think the swelling is abnormal for what’s going on.

They are more worried about the occasional high blood pressure that’s happening with it all. So they are adding high blood pressure medicine (as needed) to his array of meds. He will continue to get the shots to increase his blood count every couple of weeks (Krista gets to give him shots at home). He had to get one before he went home from the Hospital on Friday. They seem to be working a little! Since his levels are slowly creeping up.

According to Krista under the circumstances Gage is doing really well! I think he’s bored and sick of hospital food and we are all REALLY tired. Ultimately though he’s good!

Gage, Krista, Travis and Jazmin have felt much love through the support and Prayers from everyone. This has been a scary, hard and painful journey with Gage. His recovery from the Kidney Damage has come slower than we thought and would like, but it IS slowly coming!

God Is Amazing

I said a Prayer For You

Even though the progress has been relatively slow but steady, we know God is there holding their hands.

The Lord holds us in his firm and loving grip. They have an army of friends who are standing with them, an army who is traveling with them on this journey (yup, that’s you).

For that they are truly grateful. Thank you!!

Send Gage your love and support in the Comments below and PLEASE keep Praying…

Hell Michigan Hell, Michigan

This is an easy one!

I have officially gone to hell! Hell, Michigan that is! We have lived in Hell, Michigan for almost 10 years now. I am a true hillbilly when it comes to my way of thinking and doing things. You’ve heard the saying “Hillbilly Engineering” well it started out around here with Eric telling me I was a hillbilly all the time. One day I decided that since I am in hell that I wasn’t a hillbilly I was a Hellbilly. Like I told you in my last post About Hellbilly Mama, I am always fixing and rigging things. My Most Proud Moments- 30 Day Blog Challenge

The Guilt is killing me!!

Isn’t it weird that I have this much anxiety and guilt over skipping my Blog Challenge Post yesterday? We are just getting home from being Up North for a long weekend and I didn’t have the energy or inspiration to write yesterday. I spent the whole day feeling like crap over it. Stupid, I know!

Guilt and Worry

I’m going to quit feeling guilty right now…

Today I am just getting back into the swing of things so I am going to pick a different day off the list AGAIN. This might be becoming another bad habit. Ugh, just what I need! After reading through the list a thousand times I finally decided to write about my most proud moments.

The most obvious is when my 3 kids were born.

Not the actual process itself. I’m not one of those Super Moms that can have kids naturally. I walked in saying, “I want an epidural as soon as possible”. I didn’t have anything to prove. I wanted to enjoy the experience as much as possible. Not suffer through the pain like some people choose to do. The epidural doesn’t cross over to the baby and doesn’t alter your mind like the drugs they offered do. It just numbs you from the waist down so you don’t feel like you’re going to die anymore. Labor with my girls was long and grueling, with my third child Gabe it went easy peasy; aside from the fact that I was confined to the bed because the umbilical cord was in the wrong spot.

Enough about the labor let’s get on to the good part, the actual individuals I brought into this world.

Being a Mom

This is what I chose to do…

My oldest daughter Joslynn has accomplished many things.

A few are that she got her GED and she is a phenomenal singer. She gave me a perfect, spit fire grandson (my sidekick) and has another little boy on the way. He will grace us with his presence in July. She is engaged to a wonderful guy and they are a happy little family. I couldn’t ask for more for her.

My middle Daughter Paige is also a wonderful daughter.

She is a typical teenage girl with her mood swings and attitude. It wouldn’t be Paige if she didn’t have something to say about everything. She loves to read and I can always find her curled up somewhere with book. She is also awesome about cleaning and straightening up things around the house. Especially after Brayden the terrorizer comes over. That child keeps his Aunt Paige on her toes as far as cleaning up his messes. He actually sings, “Messy, messes, messy, messes” as he’s emptying all of his toys onto the ground ha-ha.

My youngest son Gabe is the entertainer of the house.

He is a very active 12 Year old boy. He plays football, rides dirt bikes (when he had one), and he is tough but sensitive. He is always looking for ways to make other people feel better. You could spend your day laughing at his comedic ways. He doesn’t even try to be funny most of the time. With his ADHD I think he is just as surprised at what comes out of his mouth as everybody else ha-ha. Seriously, I have always called him the poster child for the poster child of ADHD. Being ADHD myself I am allowed to say that. Brayden comes over to play with his Uncle Gabe. Gabe is really good at keeping Brayden busy. They destroy the house together. We bought Brayden a little Razor electric Motorcycle for Christmas (it’s too big for him). Uncle Gabe rides Brayden all over the house on the dirt bike (yes in the house) it’s really cold outside right now. Gabe struggles through school because of his ADHD but somehow remains to be positive about life (for the most part). I am always amazed at what he has accomplished so far in life. If it has to do with anything hands on he can do it and do it well.

ADHD ability

Another one of my most proud moments is when I personally Graduated High School.

I chose to lead a very rocky, hectic and tough childhood. Notice I said ‘chose’ it was no one’s fault but my own. I have great Christian parents, they did everything they could do to help me be a better person but I had to learn everything my own way and the hard way. I was a naughty teenager, if there was a choice I would pick the wrong one. Eventually I ended up unexpectedly pregnant with Joslynn. That is what finally got me to pull out of the bad rut I was in and get myself together. Joslynn was 2 and a half when I graduated High School, she was in the audience at my graduation yelling, “yeah mommy”. It was such a great feeling to know I accomplished so much in such a short amount of time. I owe it all to her (my angel baby) for helping me get my life together and started.

I have listed a couple of other proud mom moments below.

Joslynn was accepted and attending Eastern Michigan University. That is a great feat for someone who dropped out of school and had a baby, only to go back and get her GED and get a scholarship for her great scores.

Paige has been reading at a 12th Grade level since 6th Grade. That is totally awesome to have a daughter that advanced in reading.

Gabe started racing Dirt Bikes at 3 years old. I’m not blowing smoke; we really had him at the race track racing when he was 3 turning 4. He has won trophies bigger than himself. At 9 years old he could change the oil and rotate tires on a car by himself (I would supervise). His knowledge always amazes me.

This Video is of Gabe riding in our backyard in the snow at 4 years old… Watch it’s crazy…

These are just a few of my proudest moments; I could go on all day.

What is your most proud moment? Share in the comments below…

Last Time I Cried- 30 Day Blog Challenge

This is a very sad story!!

if you are

I normally like to keep my post upbeat and positive. If I am going to write honestly than I need to tell you the truth about the last time I cried. I really don’t cry very often, sometimes I wonder if my crier is broken. There are definite situations I have encountered that I should be crying about but I can’t. This one for obvious reasons did get me going several different times; I did manage to keep it together most of the time by looking at the big picture and not the here and now.

In early December I received a call from my Mother In-law asking if Eric was home from work yet, he wasn’t. She completely lost it and informed me that my 31 year old brother in law Andy was dead. We are all from Michigan but a few years ago Andy moved to West Virginia for work. He was single and lived in an apartment down there by himself. He did come up to hang out and visit us in Michigan one to two weekends a month though.

I will give you a little history, a month and a half before his death he wasn’t feeling well so he went to the doctors to find out what was wrong with him. He found out he had a Liver Disease. After a week in the hospital and Outpatient Treatment he was expected to get better and recover from this. He came home to Michigan for Thanksgiving and his skin and eyes were greenish yellow, he looked awful. He had scheduled an appointment with a bigger Liver Clinic (in Pennsylvania) for the following Monday since the rinky dink Doctor’s Office he was currently going to wasn’t helping him. He went to his first appointment on that Monday; they ordered Blood Work and scheduled him a follow up appointment. He died less than a week later on Sunday, he was found on Monday by the police.

His work was worried about him because they couldn’t get a hold of him so they sent the Police to his apartment to check on him. The Police found him dead in his bed. As of February 15, 2015 we are still waiting for the Autopsy results for the cause of death. The stupid thing is you could look at him and tell he was definitely sick, what is the hold up here. Without the completed Autopsy there is no Death Certificate, with no Death Certificate I am having a hard time taking care of his financial matters (I am in charge of his Estate).

strong

Like I have said numerous times in other Post;

I try to look at the positive in every situation and make the best of everything life throws my way. I have cried several times about Andy being gone but each time I am able to pull myself together by remembering that not only does “Everything Happen for a Reason” , he is in Heaven in a better more peaceful place.

One of the biggest positive things that have happened directly related to Andy’s death is how close we have become with Eric’s parents. I am sitting here writing this on the couch of their cabin up north, we all came up here as a family for the second time in the last two months. In the last 8 years we have never been on a family vacation with them. We also talk to them almost every day and see them about 1 time a week. I love hanging out with them and can’t believe it took 8 years and Andy’s death to bring us together. But I am glad it did.

My mother in law Val and I have a lot more in common that we ever knew.

She is an avid sewer and ‘crafter’ like me. We both love going to Auctions (we went twice this weekend) and had a blast. They enjoy my kids and my kids love hanging out with them. All in all, it is a blessing in disguise. I am just sorry it had to all start because of the death of someone as great as Andy. He is missed greatly.

When was the last time you cried? Was it over something silly or serious? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Personality Traits I am Proud Of- 30 Day Blog Challenge

Let me be honest here, I had to actually look up a list of personality traits so I could pick the ones that pertain to me. Loser I know! I sat here staring at the screen for a while drawing a blank before I decided to ask Google for help. I’m really terrible at coming up with positive things about myself. I usually save my positive thoughts for other people.

climb-a-tree

I am constantly doing silly things. I jump and dance around with my kids. No that video was not of me twerking on YouTube, and no my daughter did not upload it (I made her take it off). There are days that I talk in silly accents all morning. I have been known to lay my seat back in the car, do the lean and drive with one hand while jamming out the radio (my kids hate this). I have gone out to the bus stop and climbed the tree while waiting for my kids to get off the bus; so when they got dropped off their mom was in the tree (how embarrassing). I ride the shopping cart around the store and in the parking lot, come on you know you’ve always wanted to be that crazy lady.

As I’ve said before I am always Hellbilly rigging everything which makes me creative, inventive and resourceful. My creativity also shows up in my crafts and cooking. I love creating new things. I make my own curtains, cleaning supplies etc. I also create stuff for dinner (sometimes not so good). I will look at what we have and decide to make a pot of ‘something’. I use my resourcefulness to be inventive. Some of my inventive skills work out good and some don’t. Like the hammock Incident where I Hellbilly rigged a hammock to a T Post (metal fence post) and a wooden swing frame. I ended up knocking myself out cold and busted my head open (ouch). Another fail is when I rigged a shelf up in our laundry room only to later find the shelf and everything that was on it on the floor. On a positive note I did rig up a lot of things that didn’t fail too, like our old swimming pool. It was one of the big ones that had the air ring around the top of it. Somehow it got a slow leak that I couldn’t find but I had to fill the stupid thing with air every day (very annoying). I took an inner tube from my sons peddle bike and cut the air filler part off and super glued it to the filler hole so I could easily fill the pool with air every day. This actually saved me hours out of my summer.

I am a very easygoing, friendly and understanding person. If you read my other post about my grandson spending the night Did I Even Sleep Last Night??  You would know that I can tolerate a lot. I love to have unexpected visitors show up. I go with the flow easily. Nothing really throws me off except having to leave my house. I love making friends with people and I will talk to anyone. I am the person that people call if they have a problem, I am a good shoulder to cry on because I have been there done that. Let it out sister, I understand!

Being practical is also one of my personality traits. I blame this on the way I grew up. Everything has a second purpose. Nothing should be wasted, cherish the things you have. I see a purpose for something and do it or use it. This trait also makes me a hoarder since I save everything. It’s kind of scary sometimes the stuff that I have when someone needs something.

I can saying

My most valued personality traits are being optimistic, hopeful and cheerful. Throughout my life I have had many struggles and complications. I have managed to stay positive regardless of what has or hasn’t happened to me. I have lived through my first house out on my own burning to the ground. Then the death of my husband at 32 years old; which led to my horrible panic attacks and anxiety. Numerous surgeries and medical problems (the hammock incident caused some of them). Those are just naming a few things. Even though I have been through a ton in my 40 years I have managed to do more than just keep my head above water. I hang on to the hope that one day I will be able to get over my panic attacks, and be a ‘normal’ person again. I am always in a good mood and acting silly. I take every day as a blessing and realize life is way too short to fret about the small things.

Tell me in the comments below your best personality trait; you don’t even have to say why.

I hate to say I am one of those people that have to find out the hard way. I have done a lot of Hellbilly engineering in my many years around here and I think the name fits perfectly.

My tag line “Bringing you tons of fun from Hell, Michigan” also has an extra meaning behind the meaning. In December Eric’s brother Andy passed away. His nickname was “Uncle Tonsals (Tunzuls)” short for “Tons of Fun”. Since he spent a lot of time here hanging out and enjoying the awesomeness of Hell, Michigan; I decided to dedicate my tagline to him. I think it fits perfect for what I am trying to blog about. Simple family fun from Hell, Michigan.
