Boy oh boy when it rains it pours. My 16 year old nephew Gage has been in the hospital for almost a week with what was supposed to be Pneumonia that wouldn’t go away. He is now home but diagnosed with a rare Autoimmune Disorder Vasculitis that causes his body to attack his blood vessels causing them to bleed out into his lungs and kidneys. He has had over 1000 mg of Steroid treatments, 2 blood transfusions and a $20,000 Leukemia treatment infusion. He has to go back into the hospital next week for a kidney biopsy and another infusion. Every few months he has to go back into the hospital for infusions for the next few years. That’s on top of the daily Steroid medication he has to take.
Now that he is home and being monitored closely his lungs are doing better however his Kidney levels are dangerously off. He is now getting bloody noses from the disease as an added symptom. We are continuing to pray for his recovery (remission) from this horrible disease and ask that you also say a prayer for him. He has a long battle ahead of him and is very scared about the situation. He is trying to stay positive and get back to school but his symptoms are making it hard for him. I will keep you updated on the progress as new twist, turns and news comes along.
We are grateful for your prayers and support for Gage during his recovery. Thank you!
